Funeral services for Robert (Bob) McCleery Black will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013, 2 pm, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street. Visitation will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Mr. Black, 89, died Oct. 6, 2013 at Baton Rouge General after a brief illness. He was a resident of St. James Place. He was a long-time member of Baton Rouge Bridge Club and achieved life master in bridge many years ago. He was a former bridge columnist for the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate. He was also an avid golfer and a former member of Sherwood Forest Country Club, Country Club of Louisiana and Houston Hustlers Golf Group. Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents Drs. Harry and Marion Black, first wife Hildegard Clasen Black, son Geoffrey McCleery Black, and second wife Loyce Waguespack Black. Those left to cherish his memory are son Michael Clasen Black and wife Susan of Durango, Co.; daughter Cynthia Black Bouchie and husband Thomas of Pineville, La.; and grandchildren Chase McCleery Bouchie and Kathleen Elisabeth Bouchie, both of Pineville, La. Mr. Black is also survived by stepchildren Chris Waguespack Beckman and Tom of Boulder Creek, Ca.; Mikki Waguespack Robert and husband Don of Gonzales; Kay Waguespack Polk and family of Gonzales; Tim Waguespack and wife Julie of Prairieville, La.; Michael Waguespack and wife Belinda of Prairieville, La., as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the PCAs and staff at St. James Place for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our father. We would also like to thank the Fourth Floor PCAs , nurses, support staff and doctors (Dr. Raju Vatsavai, Dr. Faruqi Fahad and colleagues and Dr. Brian Murphy) at Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet.
