Rita Vidrine Patton was born May 28, 1943 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and enjoyed calling Covington home for many years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society for professional educators and LSU Campus Club. She was a docent at the Rural Life Museum, an accomplished Master Gardener and a world traveler. Rita was an English teacher and loved her students as much as great literature, theater and musicals. Her greatest joy was being Grammy to 7 grandchildren. Rita is survived by daughters, Dana de la Bretonne (husband Larry), Ashley Waggoner (husband Ian) and Jeanne Marie Kraus (husband Michael) and grandchildren Will and Chris de la Bretonne of Baton Rouge, Charlie, Cate and Ellie Waggoner of Austin, TX and Molly and Andrew Cooper of Waynesburg, PA and her beloved cousin Paula Hollingsworth. Preceded in death by infant son Kevin Coxe, her parents Mary Lee Ardoin Vidrine and Charles Vidrine, and her brother Stephen Charles Vidrine. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Fidelis, King Richard and Compassus Hospice. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 9:00am-11:00am with services at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery 4045 North Street.
