Rita Guidry Patin

A loving mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born on December 16, 1921, in Arnaudville, LA. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and retired owner of Patin’s Grocery and she appreciated the business’s support from the neighbors, friends, and family. Her greatest joys were quilting, cooking, sewing, and gardening. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, from 8 AM until funeral service at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her three daughters, Martha Smith, Rita Smiley and husband, Ken, and Ruth Devall and husband, Ray; sister, Lilly McDaniel; brother, Raphael Guidry; seven grandchildren, Sandi Tourere, Bubba Kennedy, Wes McGlothren, Michelle Jones, Dana Gauthier, Michael Gauthier, and Richard Patin; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcee Patin; former husbands, Daisy Guillory and Thomas Patin; parents, Aurelia and Ulinor Guidry; four sons, Jimmy, Paul, A.J., and Roy Patin; granddaughter, Angela Kennedy; six brothers, Leo Taylor, Claude, Lloyd, Fred, Sam, and Sidney Guidry; and one sister, Odette Lanclos. Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Henry Patin, Michael Gauthier, Wes McGlothren, Tiny Tourere, and Bubba Kennedy. The family would like to thank the caretakers of Joor Rd.
