"Rita D. Bryant, a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on July 4, 2020 at the age of 92. Everyone knew her as "Maw Maw Rita." Rita liked crocheting, sewing, macramé, ceramics, and upholstery. She was a very strong woman and a hard worker. She loved to help others and would feed and shelter anyone who was hungry or homeless. Everyone was considered family to her. She is survived by her son, William M. Russell of Baton Rouge, and daughter, Andrea Melissa Young of Baton Rouge; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Bryant; son, "Rusty" Russell; her sister, Inez "Nana" Cooper; and many other relatives. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 12:00 p.m. until a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
