Richard Stanek was born in Lackawanna, NY, on October 17, 1942. He passed away on December 20, 2023 at age 81, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Richard was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and he was a proud LSU graduate and Tiger fan. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. Richard is survived by his wife, Veronica Stanek, Baton Rouge; son, Gregory Stanek (Clancy), Baton Rouge; brother, Daniel Stanek (Mary), Florida; sister, Rose (Richie) Kuta, Buffalo, NY; sister-in-law, Norma Stanek, Buffalo, NY; sister-in-law, Dianne Guillot, West Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Stanek of Buffalo, NY; brother-in-law, Dayton Guillot, West Monroe, LA; and a nephew. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
