Richard F. Conran passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by those he loved, on Tuesday December 12, 2023. He was born to Robert I. Conran and Lillian W. Conran on June 16, 1939. He was a graduate Catholic High School and Proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He became a Member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks in 1983, Baton Rouge Lodge 490. He served as Exalted Ruler for 4 terms where he organized many fundraisers for The Lupus Foundation and The Muscular Dystrophy Association. He served as State President of the Louisiana Elks Association in 1998-1999; District Deputy, West in 1999-2000; Grand Tiler in 2011-2012; Special Deputy for 20 years. He is survived by his best friend, love of his life, and wife of 62 years, Glenda Sue Traylor Conran, Daughter, Suzanne Conran-Moore and husband Tony Moore, Granddaughter, Alexa N. Conran(Angel Girl), Grandson, Philip A. Moore(Flip), Brother in Law, George Traylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert I. and Lillian W. Conran, sister Barbara L. Conran, infant sister Dorothy Conran, his beloved pets, Beau and Lily Girl, and best granddog, Remus. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Thursday December 21, 2023. Visitation from 10am-12 noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment in The Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Zachary, La. Immediately following the Mass at 2pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard, Dr. Bancroft, Dr. Berlinger, and all the ICU staff at The Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet for the excellent care they gave to both Richard and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, The Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
