Mr. Raymond Charles Betz, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on November 12, 2021 at the age of 82. He was a member of the National Guard and worked for the state of Louisiana in the Civil Service department for over 40 years. He received many certificates of Appreciation for his hard work, teamwork, positive attitude, extra ordinary dependability, conscientious devotion, loyalty, and dedication to his work. Mr. Raymond had a passion for gardening, woodworking, and crafted multiple wooden clocks and other wooden pieces. He was an avid Saints football and LSU football and baseball fan, enjoyed old western movies and had impressive movie and model car collections, and loved performers Marty Robbins and Reba McIntire.
Raymond was known as a wonderful step-father, brother, uncle, husband, employee, friend and man. He was a gem and will be remembered for the exceptional person that he was.
He is survived by step-daughter Amy Renee Sarradet, niece Laura English Moates, nephew Randolph J. English. Preceded in death by father Harry Betz, mother Madelen B. Betz, sister Lucille Granier English and brother in law Rufus Elbert English, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 12:00pm until service time of 2:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Mike Sarradet, Ricky McLean, and Murray L. Allen Jr.
