Peggy Walters Shepard passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at the age of 81. She was a native of Shreveport, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Samuel E. Shepard of Baton Rouge, two sons and daughters-in-law; Gregory K. and Cindy S. Shepard of Baton Rouge and Mark and Kerri Shepard of Patterson,CA, two daughters and sons-in-law; Julie S. and Robert Townley, Vicksburg, MS and Wendy S. and Brian Parlman of Hudson, NY . Grandchildren; Rachel Shepard Jones and husband Nick Jones, Katherine Shepard, Scott Shepard, Jenni Townley Hodges and husband Joel Hodges, Clayton Townley, Bailey Shepard, Brett Shepard, and Drew Shepard, a great grandchild, Jaycee Hodges, sister and brother-in-laws, Francis Heidenreich and Benny Heidenreich of Monroe, LA, Betty Walters of Arcadia, LA and William and Lois Shepard of Arlington, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; Roy L. and Marylou Rawls Walters and a brother; Roy L. Walters Jr. Visitation will be at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Friday, June 6, 2014 beginning at 9:00am until services at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Ken Carroll with burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clayton Townley, Scott Shepard, Joel Hodges, Don Martin and Nick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be; Travis Nichols, Henry Ramos, Curtis Coco and Tom Oliver. Peggy was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church for over 40 years and a member of the Fellowship Class Sunday School, a Kappa Delta Sorority Member from Louisiana Tech University, A member of the Rainbow Girl Society in Shreveport. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church and Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services in Ruston, LA.
