What a shocker! Who would’ve ever thought that Peggy Moore, the Energizer Bunny, @ 80 years young would’ve been diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma Cancer, stage 4, on June 13, 2022? After many treatments and millions of prayers she kept going right up to the very end. Team Peggy and God carried her through this unbelievable journey. Peggy Farmer Moore was a proud 1960 graduate of Istrouma High School and achieved a Degree in Business Administration at Draughn Business College. A native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA, she went to be with the love of her life, Dr. Richard Moore, who shared 40 years of the most beautiful, blended family ever. As “Doc” always said, “If there’s not a Mardi Gras ball in Heaven, there WILL be when she arrived. She celebrated 50 years in the Krewe of Romany, where most of the 100 members referred to her as “Aunt Peggy”, while serving on the Board of Directors and was Ball Captain of “On with the Show” in 1992. She was a member of Les Capitainnes since 1992 and President for over 20 years. She was voted “Best Dressed” in 1993 and was honored at the Annual Cancer Ball. Peggy retired from San Carlin Couture, where she was in sales and marketing with her San Carlin family, Gonzalo Calderon, Carla Jumonville, Elena Rome and, Linda Dalton. Prior to working at San Carlin, she worked alongside her husband daily as CEO at Richard M. Moore & Associates. When he retired from private practice to go to work in the ER, she traveled the entire state of Louisiana with him and of course made many lasting friends in every city. She never met a stranger. Known as Mom, Nanna, and Aunt Peggy to hundreds, she is survived by their children, Todd Kemp, Trae Kemp, Richard “Chip” Moore, Jr. (Cheryl) and Charlie Moore (Renee); grandchildren, Ryan Moore (Arlette), Dr. Alexandra Price (Dr. Chris), Victoria Gainous (Grant), Jacob Moore (Tabitha), Margot Dutel (Travis), Richard “Mac” Moore, and Zachary Moore; 10 beautiful great-grandchildren, Keegan, Sutton, and Salyor Moore, Nolan and Jude Price, Creed, Rowan, and Henderson Gainous, and Nial and Eloise Dutel; stepson, Brett Kemp; friend, the other half of Louise (Thelma), Katy Harris; nieces, Paula Pizzalato, Tammi and Jennifer Williams; very, very special great-niece, Jackie, known as “her special little girl.”; her guardian angel, special niece and caregiver throughout the cancer journey, Colleen Buckner and her children, Michelle, Chris and Dave; nephews, Seymour and David Mincin, Joe and Jeffery Lamarca; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Peggy is preceded in death, the love of her life, Dr. Richard Moore, due to Covid in 2020; great-grandson, Brooks Gainous; parents, Ernest and Louvenia Farmer; Father of Brett, Todd and Trae, Wilbert “Sonny” Kemp; sisters, Velma Mincin, Bobbie Lamarca and Doris Borres; and friend, Tom Collins. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 9:30am until the time of funeral services at 1pm.
