Paula Susan Lampin Sumner passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the age of 61. Born on February 28, 1956, she was a native and life-long resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Paula graduated from Istrouma High School, attended USL and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary, dispatcher, and at her mother’s children’s clothing store, Lampin’s Young World. Paula is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ted Sumner; sons and their significant others, Scott Ryan Sumner (Karlyn Whittle), Michael Cody Sumner (Moriah Bolen) and Daniel Sean Sumner (Holly Hauck); granddaughter, Kinsley Blythe Sumner; brother, Larry Lampin; nieces, Lorilin and Laura; nephew, Dub; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ursaline Lampin; sister, Linda Gibbens; nephew, Greg Gibbens; and a host of other loved ones. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16 “Do unto others as you would have done unto you,” which blessed her with a multitude of the best friends on earth. In lieu of flowers, it was Paula’s wish that donations be made in her name to the church or charity of your choice, and say a prayer for her sons. “Be kind and share your smile with others.” –Paula Sumner Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 9:00AM until the time of funeral services at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
