Paul Frederick Hebert, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and longtime resident of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Tifton Memorial Hospital at the age of seventy-three. He was the son of Frederick J. Hebert and Geraldine Swint Hebert, and was a beloved brother, cousin, and friend.
Paul graduated from Georgia Tech with a master’s degree in engineering. He was employed for many years by Lockheed Martin, a global security and aerospace company. Later, Paul pursued his passion to teach young boys and girls, serving through the Georgia Department of Education in local public schools. He retired from the teaching profession having received many sincere notes and letters from his students who expressed their gratitude for his example of kindness, ethics, generosity and personal attention to them and their needs over the years. Many students credited Paul with being a life-changing influence in their lives.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Fred and Gerry Hebert, and his sister, Connie Hebert, all of whom were longtime residents of Baton Rouge. Paul was extremely blessed to have numerous relatives and friends who loved him and many shared his hobbies, specifically hunting, fishing and cooking.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ms. Val Daniels and Mr. Greg Benton, of the Legacy Village Assisted Living facility, in Tifton Georgia. Paul loved Val like a mother and Greg like a son. Their faithful love and care of Paul was exemplary. They were very devoted and faithful throughout Paul’s lengthy illness. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Eileen Fourroux for her unending dedication and friendship to Paul and his entire family.
Private graveside services will be held on August 17, 2024, for the family and close friends.
