Patricia Hand Wall

Patricia Ann Hand Wall, age 70, of Slaughter, LA, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. God called Pat home to join her father, James Ewell Hand and mother, Leontine Rosemary Hingle Hand. She will also join her brothers James Martin George, Roger Ewell, John Ernest, Paul Timothy, and her sister Mary Margaret Hand Milliken. She is survived by her sister, Colleen Leontine Hand Thompson of Gainesville, GA, and her brother Thomas Gerard of Austin, TX.

Patricia was born on March 23, 1953, in New Orleans, LA. Her family moved to Baton Rouge, LA, when her father began teaching Architecture at LSU. She married William “Freddy” Wall of Baton Rouge, LA, in 1974 and they shared two children: William Frederick II and Shaunessy Patrice. Her son, Will and his wife Maranda, now reside in Kingston, TN with their 4 children: Elizabeth, Ava, Marley, and Tytus. Her daughter, Shaunessy and her husband Ashby Schwartz, reside in Slaughter, LA with their 4 sons: Ashby Elliot II, Liam, Emmitt, and Harrison.

Patricia was a devoted mother of 2, grandmother of 8, sister to 7 siblings, loyal friend, and a natural caregiver. She was talented in so many ways, had the best sense of humor, loved her family with all of her heart—always ready to serve. Patricia worked 25 plus years as a Social Worker for The Arc, eventually stepping down to care for her mother later in life. She will be deeply missed.

Graveside funeral service will be on Saturday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m., for the family, at Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton, LA. Immediately after her service, will be a Celebration of Life for Patricia, in Ethel, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to assist with expenses. Remaining donations will be equally forwarded to the National Alliance on Mental Illness and Heartbeat International.
