Nolan "Bulldog" Tollett

Nolan Elisha Tollett, Jr., affectionately known as Bulldog to his friends and family, passed away on Tuesday, May 30th. He is preceded in death by his mother, Miriam, and father, Nolan Sr., and is survived by his wife, Dianne, their "beautiful children" Noelle and Greyson Tollett, Derek Fletcher, and younger brothers John, Robin, and Tom.

Bulldog was a loving husband and devoted father who tirelessly worked to provide for and support his family. Despite the passing years, he remained eternally young at heart, exhibiting unwavering determination and a strong work ethic until the very end. Except for his two or three daily naps, he could never sit still. While he had a massive heart, he would vehemently deny the extent of his love for animals, particularly his granddogs and shop cats.

Nolan's conversion from Methodist to Catholic deeply impacted his life, as he embraced the Church's teachings and developed a profound faith that strengthened his bond with loved ones. Each passing year in the Church made him more open-minded, understanding, and empathetic. He devoutly attended mass at St. Thomas More, actively participated in the choir, and served as an Eucharistic minister. In addition, he was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and held the role of Festival Chair.

Bulldog had a knack for instigating deep conversation with family, friends, and even strangers. Extremely outgoing and personable, he loved telling stories of his adventures to everyone and anyone. He was a natural at embellishment and the art of storytelling. He was gifted with many talents and learned skills from marksmanship from his time in ROTC at LSU to paintball wars to RC car racing with his son. The largest passion in his life were all things with a motor that made noise. His favorites being cars, especially “hot rods”, and motorcycles. He raced for many years in various forms including Enduro, long track motorcycle (roundy roundy), and drag racing in his Chevelle. He had various points in his life where he was selling something or another, but his persuasive nature allowed him to excel at selling anything to anyone. He also made a significant impact as a recreational director at Angola. He was instrumental in establishing the Angola football teams, plasma donations and the continuing coordination of the Angola Rodeo. Although Bulldog aged, he never lost his youthful spirit. His energy knew no bounds. That was simply Nolan.

Vibrant and full of life, Bulldog exuded a youthful charm that transcended his age. His laughter and infectious personality illuminated every room he entered. May his vibrant legacy live on in the hearts of his surviving family and friends as a constant reminder of the joy and love he brought into their lives.

A visitation for Nolan will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 9 am until Mass at 11. Committal service at Greenoaks Memorial Park at 1:30 pm by Deacon Joe Scimeca.
