Nettles Jerome Green AKA Nookie was born July 5, 1972, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Jean T. G. Jackson and his biological father, Carlton Davis. Nettles was an only child raised by his mom and pops, Jeffrey R. Jackson. Nettles passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2022, with his mom by his side. Nettles was a loving son, grandson, cousin, and friend to many. Nettles never considered anyone a stranger, and he always wanted to help everyone. He always loved to talk to the elderly people and help in anyway. He loved his family and home boys, and always wanted to dress to perfection. But, he always placed God first. His favorite song was, “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp. Nettles loved his mom, sport cars, fine clothing and brand named tennis shoes. He worked at various plants, Copolymer, Delta Concrete, Amark, EBRP school system, and as a security officer. Nettles attended Sacred Heart, Sherwood Middle, and Broadmoor High School. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst funeral home (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge) from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, November, 25. Religious services will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, November 26 (2250 Main St, Baton Rouge) from 11 am to 1 pm, presided by Father Miles Walsh. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Funeral Home (9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge). Reception at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Nettles is survived by his mother, Jean T.G. Jackson; pop, Jeffrey R. Jackson; daughter, Mallory Bertin; cousins, Llevyn and Brandy Green, Jared and Erin Green, Darren Green, Miranda Reams; father, Carlton Davis; half-sister, Chelsea Davis; aunt, Demetria Ingram; uncles, Phillip and Derick Ingram, Donnel and Lonnie Jackson; grandmother, Anna Jackson; and great cousins Lesli and Brayon Green. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nettles Green Sr; grandmother, Avis Domino Green; uncle, Nettles Green Jr; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
