Myra "Von" Vondel Webb

Myra Vondel “Von” Webb, born on April 13, 1938, entered peacefully into eternal rest of July 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and resident of Baton Rouge.

She was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, LA.

She was a loyal and dedicated public servant for the State of Louisiana serving in various agencies retiring with 48 years of service. At the time of her retirement, she was employed at Louisiana Public Service Commission. She was a former Officer and Member of AFSCME Local 421, Former Supervisory Committee Chairman for La Cap Federal Credit Union, Former Board Member of MADD, Former Member of International Association of Employment Security Personnel.

She is survived by her husband 27 years Garland W. Webb; two daughters, Tammy S. Meador (Pam) and Terri Parnell-Allison (Greg); son, Thomas Randal “Randy” Meador (Eleanor); step-son Carter Webb. She will always be known as a loving Grandmother to her grandchildren, Stephanie Parnell Jenkins (Josh), Maggie A. Meador, Allison E. Meador and Shea McKinnie; three great grandchildren, Myra, Emilee and Claire Jenkins. All who were the greatest joy and love of her life; she is also survived by a sister, Sybil M. Costello (Carmon); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Nettie Mae Adams Miley; a sister and brother in law Bobbie and Lavory Magee and son in law Lee Stephen “Steve” Parnell.

Pallbearers will be Shea McKinnie, Carter Webb, Scott Magee, Chad Angelo, Josh Jenkins and Fernand Fall.

Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Service will begin at 2:00pm and will be officiated by Reverend Pattye Hewitt. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
