Milton "Mutt" Gabriel Richard, Sr., 88, of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born on April 25, 1925 in New Orleans and was raised in the country of Bayou LaFourche. Milton was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in World War II. Milton was a master carpenter and he loved to hunt, fish, and cook. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Metta Reulet Richard; children, Beverly R. Rotolo and husband Ken, Beryl Jacques, Milton G. Richard, Jr. and wife Cindy, and Michael R. Richard and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Jennifer R. Corey and husband Walt, Rebecca R. Howard and husband Paul, Sam Rotolo and wife Jill, Jeremy Jacques, Jeanette Jacques-Mumphrey and husband Luke, Adam Richard and wife Kaylan, Lindsey Richard, Jared Richard; great-grandchildren, Madison Corey, Ryan Corey, and Stella Kate Corey, Amber Howard, Paul Howard III, Olivia Rotolo, Kynsley Wellman, and Braxton Richard due in June; one brother, Leo Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his parents, Norman and Jeanette LaGarde Richard; brother, Norman Richard; sister, Jane Ponson; grandson, Gabriel Richard; and brothers and sisters-in-law. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Sam Rotolo, Jeremy Jacques, Adam Richard, Jared Richard, Walt Corey, Paul Howard. Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday, January 20th, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
