Mr. Honore’ was a native and resident of Baton Rouge and was born on November 12, 1945 to his parents, Paul Benny Honore’, Sr. and Louise Decuir Honore’. He graduated from Holy Rosary Institute in Lafayette, Louisiana. Mr. Honore’ was a licensed painting contractor and co-owner of Sonnier and Honore’ Contractors Inc. He was a well-known businessman throughout the state of Louisiana. Mr. Honore’ was a kind-hearted man and a mentor to many young men who needed a “second” chance in life. He was loved by many; his personality was magnetic and his heart was made of gold.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Magdalene Honore’, his four children, Mona Honore’ Edwards (Will), Tina Honore’ McGaskey (Tyson); Milton Leon Honore’, Jr. and Ian Murray Honore’(Nikki); sisters, Barbara Sonnier, Betty Decuir (Ronald, Sr.); his brothers, Alvin Francis Honore’ (Muriel) and John Murphy Honore’, Sr.; brother-in-law’s, Leroy Pero (Barbara) and Charles Pero (Jackie), ten grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Benny Honoré, Sr. and Louise Decuir Honoré; three brothers, Phillip Honoré, Joseph Honoré and Paul Benny Honore, Jr. and one sister, Virgie Patin.
A mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; Viewing will be from 9am- 11am. (1120 Myrtle Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. and a private burial at Greenoaks Mausoleum (Immediate family only). (9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815).
