Michael Robert Ragusa, Baton Rouge, La. native and Xenia, Ohio resident, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the age of 28 years old. Michael changed many lives and will be missed by all who knew him. Michael was a graduate of the Catholic High School Class of 2005. He served in the United States Air Force, where he received many prestigious awards and honors, including the Meritorious Unit Award, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border, Basic Military Training Honor Graduate, the Air Force Training Ribbon and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He was an aircraftsman technician at Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services in Wilmington, Oh. A loving son, brother, grandson and friend to many, Michael is survived by his parents, Blaze and Catherine Ragusa; sister, Catie Ragusa and her fiancé Kris Goff; maternal grandmother, Catherine Sandberg; paternal grandmother, Diane Ragusa; aunts and uncles, Eugene and Beth Ledet, Timothy and Christy Ledet, Carmel Taylor, Brenda and Brad Kaiser, Sammy Ragusa and Gina Ragusa, as well as numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Ledet, Sr.; paternal grandparents, John Joseph and Joyce Ragusa; uncles John "Little Johnny" Ragusa and Charles Taylor; and cousin, Ricky Metz II. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70815 on Friday, February 12, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A rosary will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Trace Ledet, Cody Taylor, Kris Goff, Tommy Parsons, David Parsons, Jacob Rabalais, Jay Chaisson and Keith Kaiser. Honorary pall bearer is Tyler Ledet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for memorial masses or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
