Michael Thomas Head

Rev Michael "Michi" Thomas Head, 62, of Geismar, Louisiana was called home on Wednesday December 22, 2022. Michi grew up in Bernice, Louisiana, graduated from Louisiana Tech, and received his Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He was serving as senior pastor at New Life Community UMC in Luling, Louisiana and was previously the senior pastor at Jefferson UMC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Maguire UMC in West Monroe, Louisiana. He served the United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana in various roles since 2012, most recently as the Chairman of the Board. He was a beloved pastor who dedicated his life to serving. He will be dearly missed and always remembered by all who knew him. Michi was predeceased by his father Thomas Head. He is survived by his wife Cindy Head, two children Carly and Jordy Head, stepchildren Chelsea Schneider and husband Corey, Adam May and wife Theresa, his mother Helga Head, brother Steven Head and wife Tanya, niece Lauren, and two step-grandchildren Annabel and Archie Schneider. Michi's celebration of life will be held at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 10328 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge. Visitation will be from 12-2PM Wednesday, December 28 with services to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to the charity of your choice.
