Maxine DePriest Hart

"Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend went to be with our Lord September 8, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born December 29, 1923 in Green River, Wyoming. Maxine spent her formative years in Jena, LA and was a resident of Baton Rouge since 1941. She met the love of her life, Andy Hart, dressed in his Navy dress whites on a blind date at Stroube's on Third Street. They married in 1945 and became the owners of Hart's Nursery and Flower Shop. She is survived by a daughter, Gayle Hart Gross; son, Gary Hart and wife Trish; grandchildren, Ryan, Megan and Kyle Gross, Lee Hart and wife Michelle, and Lauren Hart Zwick and husband Billy; and great-grandchildren, Addison Zwick, and Andrew and Molly Hart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Hart; brother, Carl DePriest and wife Barbara; and granddaughters, Kristin and Keri Gross. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9 am until services at 11 am conducted by Rev. Bill Strawbridge. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Special thanks to the staff of Health Care Options, especially Annette and adopted daughter Sonya, for all the love and special attention given to our mother.
