A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 86 year-old Maxine Ferracci, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. She resided in Denham Springs, LA and was formerly of Baton Rouge where she was a member and volunteer at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry Ferracci; five daughters, Janet Adams and husband Ben Adams of San Antonio, TX, Brenda Miller and husband Butch Miller of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Debbie Verrett of Baton Rouge, Marci Sells of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, and Sheree Hughes and husband Dr. David Hughes Sr. of Denham Springs; sister, Juanita Fitzgerald of Houston, Texas; brothers, Joe “Kerman” Guidry and wife Jean Guidry of Longview, Texas, Wilbert “Bubba” Guidry and wife Connie Guidry; grandchildren, Natalie Baum Davis, Coman Baum, Derek Miller, Joshua Miller, Gerard Verrett, Cammie Verrett Sanderson, Darlene Hughes Whittlesy, DeAnna Hughes Cole, Damon Hughes, DeShae Hughes, Destanee Hughes, and Dara Hughes; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Guidry Sr. and Eunice Guidry; sisters, Verna Henderson and Shirley Redding; brothers, Murrel Guidry and Lawrence Guidry Jr.; and grandson David Hughes Jr. Serving as her pallbearers are Richard Lemoine, Damon Hughes, Butch Miller, Gerard Verrett, Lance Cole, Ben Adams, David Hughes Sr., and Chris Pardon. Her sweet smile, gentle way, kind heart, and good cookin’ will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will commence at Greenoaks Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be Friday, January 14 from 5-9 p.m and Saturday from 12-2 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. Interment will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice In His Care-Baton Rouge.
