Maude Marie Blanchard Daigle, a homemaker, died on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 92, born May 5, 1916, in Assumption Parish. She was an avid LSU fan and loved her family. Visitation at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, on Friday, Sept. 19, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Samuel Maranto, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Survivors include her son, Douglas J. Daigle and wife Barbara Christine Daigle, of Central; two daughters, Phyllis Daigle Ferguson and Diana Marie Daigle and partner Brenda M. Beavers, all of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Sharon and husband Edward Figueroa, of Rowlett, Texas, Michael and wife Kelly Ferguson, of Brentwood, Tenn., Terrie and husband Ronnie Carrier and Mitchell Smith, all of Central; 11 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob and Nathan Figueroa, all of Rowlett, Jade, Stone and Jordan Ferguson, all of Brentwood, Cody, Casey and Crissy Carrier, all of Central, Marrisa and Mallory Smith, both of Walker, and Paden Mouton, of Central; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Ann Blanchard; sisters-in-law, Mercedes Daigle, of Baton Rouge, Helen Daigle, of Gretna, Mary Daigle Pfister, of California, and Mildred Blanchard, of Gonzales. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Daigle; parents, Dalbert and Lucille Daigle Blanchard; brothers, Israel and Philip Blanchard; and sisters, Adeline Prince Borne and Therese Newchurch. Special thanks to her caregivers, Jessie Easley, Bonnie Phillips and Darlene Rayborn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Gerard Majella Church.
