Matthew Justin Harris departed this life on Monday, November 8th, 2021, at the age of 40. He was born to parents Clay and Sharon Harris on August 31, 1981 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Matthew was an avid outdoorsman who grew up in Saint Francisville, hunting and fishing with his parents as well as playing sports. He was a skilled carpenter with 15 years experience working in construction. More than anything, Matthew was his son Kaleb's best friend and loved both of his sons more than words can describe. Matthew had many struggles in this life, yet anyone who knew him will forever be touched by the kindness of his smile and the gentleness of his spirit. With a heart of gold he was a source of positivity to many. Matthew was a protector who would freely walk through fire for anyone in distress, but especially for his family. He was one of a kind. Matthew will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Matthew is survived by his; Sons; Kaleb Matthew Harris & Christian Harris, Parents; Clay and Sharon Harris, Brother; Nicholas Hunter Harris, Special friend; Roxanne Williams, Grandparents; Roger Harris & Janice Browning Harris, Uncles; Doug Harris, Billy Harris, Brad Mutrie & Steve Gulledge, Aunt; Karen Mutrie, & numerous loving Cousins. He is preceded in death by his; wife Miranda Harris, Grandparents; John and Caroline Mutrie & Rose Harris, Uncles; Johnny Mutrie & Bruce Mutrie. A memorial gathering will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government Street, Baton rouge, LA 70802 on Monday November 15th, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm with a memorial service beginning at 1:30 pm.
