Mary Helen Hudson Valentine

Mary Helen Valentine of Baton Rouge, passed away at 10:00am Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 86. Helen is survived by her husband of 31 years: Kenneth "Buck" Valentine; two stepsons: Bruce Valentine&wife Delia, and Stacy Valentine of Baton Rouge; step-grandson: Stefan Valentine; step-granddaughter: Haley Watson&husband Richie; three sisters: Marguerette Williams of Davenport, Iowa, Dorothy Swanner of Ruston, and Marie Berthelot of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces&nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Julius&Bertie Lee Hudson; and a sister: Annie Lee Walker. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews through the years and will always hold a special place in their hearts. Mrs. Valentine worked at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library for many years and enjoyed reading as a pastime, especially ""The Book of Proverbs"" in the Holy Bible. Helen was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 9:30am until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00am, conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bruce and Stacy Valentine, Mike Walker, James Cooper, Melvin Abbott and Milton Valentine.
