Mary Joyce “Terry” Theriot, a native of Port Allen and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at Landmark South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on April 27, 2023 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her parents, Verna and Harvey Theriot, two brothers, Harvey Anthony Theriot Jr., and James Marvin “Jim” Theriot, a niece and Godchild, Karen Theriot Samson, and a very dear friend, Ann Bennett. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Billie Theriot Reeves and Verna Paille Theriot, three nieces, Terri Anne Theriot Flynn, Paula Theriot Allbright, and Cheryl Theriot Moore, along with many dear friends, especially her roommate in the Navy and friend of almost 70 years, Nancy “Bing” Crosby from Montana.
Terry enlisted in the Navy following High School Graduation and spent four years serving in Seattle, Washington. After her discharge, she returned home and was employed by Perkins and Son realtors for over 40 years until her retirement. Her true joy after retirement was having the time to work in her yard, talk to her neighbors and friends as they walked by, attend LSU Softball and Volleyball games, cook, and read. Terry was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff and aides at Landmark South for the care and support they showed her at this time.
Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10:00-12:00 with a service following at 12:00, celebrated by Deacon Chauvin Wilkinson. Interment will be private at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Dwayne Flynn, Justin Flynn, Jude Allbright, Randy Moore, Austin Moore, and Taylor Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be made to St. Vincent DePaul, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
