Mary Attuso Polito, a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, died on February 23, 2015. She was born in Lockport, NY, on June 10, 1924. Of most importance to Mary was her family. The Sunday lunches she cooked for them were the highlight of everyone’s week. She was a loving mother, grandmother and an inspiration to all who knew her. Mary and her husband Carlo were charter members of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, founders of the St. Louis King of France Softball Program and remained faithful servants to the parish community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo Polito; parents, Tony and Lucy Maddie Attuso; and brother, Lucien “Joe” Attuso, Sr. She is survived by children Karla Polito, Mary Ann Freeman (and husband Kenny), Ronnie Polito (and wife Sharon), Ray Polito (and wife Mary Clare). She leaves behind grandchildren David Dellucci (and wife Rachel), Kristen Dellucci, Brandi Polito (and fiancé Robert Aertker, III), Dustin Polito (and wife Katie), Tom Polito (and wife Amanda), Clare Larpenteur (and husband Jared), Carl Polito, John Freeman (and wife Hilary) and Jamie Freeman. Mary’s great-grandchildren are Calvin Ardoin, Riley Polito, Madison Polito, Ruthie Larpenteur, Ruby Dellucci and Tony Polito. Serving as pallbearers are David Dellucci, Dustin Polito, Tom Polito, John Freeman, Carl Polito, Calvin Ardoin, Lucien Attuso, Jr. and Derek Fife. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Thursday February 26 at 8:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
