A native of Deridder, LA and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Mary Hayward Martinez passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her home in Baton Rouge, LA. She was 83 years old. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her beloved family; daughter, Mary “Michelle” Rackley; brother, John Hayward; grandchildren, Joseph Rackley and wife, Jenah and Andrew Rackley; great-grandchild, Jonah Rackley; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph P. Martinez; parents, Julius and Ruth Hayward and sisters, Wanda Walters and Jewel Arender; brother, Milton Hayward and one daughter, Andrea Denise Martinez. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 10:00am until service time of 12:00pm.
