Mary Dykes Goodson passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at the age of 102. She was born in Kentwood and was the daughter of Leo James and Maud May Miller Dykes. She was raised in Ponchatoula. She was employed by Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana until 1953. She was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by her sons, Kenny and his wife, Cindy of Katy, TX, Donnie and his wife Maureen of Baton Rouge, LA; five grandchildren, Jeff Goodson, Grace Salvie (Mark) of Houston, TX, Keith Goodson (Casey) of Denham Springs, LA, Mark Goodson (Amber) of Longview, TX, Anna Goodson of Minneola, FL; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Neil L. Goodson; parents, Leo James and Maud May Dykes; brother, Leo James Dykes Jr.; sisters, Sybil Aliese Dykes McCants and Dorothy B. Entrikin.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Monday, August 29, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
