Mary Patricia (Mary Pat) Keefe Broussard, age 79, passed away on August 30, 2021. Mary Pat was born on October 23, 1941 in Oklahoma City, OK but established most of her roots in Baton Rouge, LA. Mary Pat was a faithful servant to the Lord and enjoyed a lengthy career at St. Joseph's Academy. She was hired in 1989 as the bookkeeper, and she retired in 2018 as the Business Manager and Human Resource Manager. She was an integral part of team that brought technology to the school. She was also the recipient of the SJA Charism award. Mary Pat married Hugh "Bruce" Broussard on August 12, 1961 and they raised 2 children together: Kent Thomas Broussard and Mary Elizabeth "Mary Beth" Broussard Jobe. Mary Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Alice Keefe; husband, Hugh Broussard; sisters, Kathleen, Suzie and Peggy; and brother, Michael Keefe. She is survived by her son Kent Broussard (Melissa) and Mary Beth Broussard Jobe (Darren); grandchildren, Catherine Broussard, Elizabeth Broussard, Andrew Pizzo, Jr., and Eva Wampold; brother Patrick Keefe (Linda); sister Anne Burton (Bill). A few of her favorite hobbies were playing the piano, creating stained glass, and spending time with her horses. She loved the mountains, and dreamed of moving to Colorado. Reception and visitation will be held from 9:00am-11:00am on Tuesday, September 7 at the Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the Louisiana National Cemetery located at 303 W Mt. Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791. Mary Pat will be remembered as a giving woman, for her continued kindness no matter how great the need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Academy Tuition Assistance Fund.
