She passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Old Jefferson Community Care Center. She was 81. She was born in Haynesville, La., and was a resident of Baton Rouge. She was an alumna of Kilgore Junior College (TX) and Nichols State University, and she was a retired teacher. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church's Baptist Women, Triple L (Senior Adult Group). She was an avid LSU baseball fan. Visiting will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in Broadmoor Baptist Church, with visiting from 1 a.m. Dr. Terry Ellis will officiate. Interment will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, in Port Hudson National Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Barton, and parents, Roy and Ruby Dean. Survivors include daughters Patricia Barton Rugeley and husband, Frank, Baton Rouge, LA., Leslie Barton Spears and husband, Ronnie, Little Rock, AR, special "daughter", April Brabham and husband, Jimmy, Jefferson, La.; grandchildren, Sara Causin and husband, Trey, Metairie, La., Emily Ingalls and husband, Paul, Baton Rouge, La., Luke Barton Spears, Little Rock, Ark.; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jaeger and Jolie Causin, and Alexis, Lily and Callie Ann Ingalls. PallBearers: Trey Causin, Max Futch, Paul Ingalls, Chuck Morgan, Fred Nunneley, Skip Spurlock. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Davis, Bill Johnson.
