Mary Scott Barton

Devoted daughter, mother, and sister Mary Scott Barton passed away on August 2, 2023, with her daughter Frances Annette Hutchison at her side. She was born in Baton Rouge, graduated from Baton Rouge High and LSU and earned her master's at Mississippi State University.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Scott Duchein Barton; her father, John Walton Barton, Sr.; and her nephew Joseph Thomas (Jody) Howell, IV. She is survived by her daughter; sister, Annette Duchein Barton; brother, John Walton Barton, Jr. (Peggy); nieces Catherine Barton Zaitzeff (Zach) and Natalie Barton Perkin (Nicolas); and nephew John Walton Barton, III (Katie).

She is also survived by her loving companion of 11 years, Luvie II.

Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St, Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM with a private family burial.
