Mary Ann Dunn Jones passed away peacefully at home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was born January 27, 1953, in Conway, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mildred Dunn and her grandparents George Sr. and Sara Alewyne. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 48 years, Karl "Rick" Jones, and their three children: Bryan and fiancée Jessica of Baton Rouge, Jason and wife Amanda of Prairieville, and Sarah of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Zephram Bowler, Jude Jones, and Jesse Jones. Mary Ann received her Bachelor's degree in English from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She had a beloved career teaching pre-school children in Baton Rouge at Jefferson Methodist, Broadmoor Presbyterian and Baton Rouge Lutheran School. Her most joyful moments were playing guitar and leading her students in singing at her preschools and church programs. Her strength and resilience were demonstrated as she transferred with her husband, employed by Ethyl Corporation, around the country to Magnolia, Arkansas, where her son Bryan was born. Later, they relocated to Detroit, Michigan, where her twins, Jason and Sarah were born. However, most of her adult life was spent happily in Baton Rouge, where she attended Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, and Broadmoor Methodist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, playing guitar and piano, listening to music, and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, November 29 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge) with visitation from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Green Oaks Memorial Park (9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge).
