On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, Mary Foster Allen was welcomed to eternal life by her husband, John T. Allen Sr., son, John Thomas Allen, Jr. "Johnny", parents, ES and Elizabeth Foster, siblings, Nadine, Miriam, Needra, Neal, Patricia and husband, Joe, and Sparky, along with an army of angels. She was born July 26, 1919, in Dodson, LA. Mary was so proud of her family and is survived by her daughters, Mary Margaret (Russell), and Anita Lee (Buck); and daughter-in-law, Sandra "LuLu". Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in her 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Jeff (Karen), VaunDell (Mark), Lee (Martin), John III, (Stacie), Shauntelle (Brian), Jolee (Steve), Will (Diane), Patrick (Jennifer), Wyn (Amanda); 23 great-grandchildren, Brooke (Jake), Micah, Amber (Nick), Brennon, Dakota (Alex), Lainah (Hunter), Brett (Lauren), Melissa, Caroline (Walker), Blaise, Katherine (Sam), Taylor, Blair (Josh), Lee Anne, Andrew, Jaden, Patrick Jr., Jack IV, Bailey, Anthony, Cameron, River & Bradie; eight great-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Clarke, , Ben, Ethan, Matthew, Lucas, Marley, Scarlett, and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Gwen Foster; her godson, Steve Simmons; along with an extended family and dear friends. For 104 years, Mary made the most of her life surrounded by family and lifelong friends. She enjoyed life to its absolute fullest, loved with her whole heart and had a journey like no other. Mary, more lovingly known as "Grandmother", will truly be missed but has left behind many special memories with all that knew her. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 12pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Fr. Josh Johnson and Deacon Joe Perry for preparing Mary spiritually and supporting her journey to eternal life. Mary's family would also like to thank the caregivers at Grace, Ollie Steele and St. Clare Manor nursing home for the love and care they have shared and much appreciation to the team at Greenoaks Memorial Park for helping Mary and her family to prepare her final wishes with such grace and compassion. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kyle, Jeff, Mark, Martin, John III, Brian, Will, Steve, Patrick Sr., and Wyn.
