Marie Pollard

Marie was born February 21, 1934 to Tobie J. and Edna Riggs Pourciau in Lakeland, LA. She passed from our embrace November 14, 2014, to the care of our Lord. Marie was a fantastic cook and generally prepared all holiday meals in order to draw our family together for every holiday. Marie retired from Walmart in Cortana in 2012 after 24 years of service. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Lynn Pollard Boudreaux and husband, Greg of Prairieville, Karen Pollard McClure and husband, Daniel of St. Amant, Lori Pollard Smith and husband, Preston of Baton Rouge, and Kevin Pollard of Buda, TX. Marie is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jared Mayers, Natalie Mayers Lyons (David), Amanda McClure, Stephanie McClure, Crystal Pabellon (David), Kaci Smith, Matthew Smith and great-granddaughter Kylie Lyons. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Pourciau and family of Central. Her beloved cat, Gracie Rose also survives her. Marie was predeceased by husband, Virgil F. Pollard, Jr and sister, Elna P. May of Baker, LA and her parents. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, November 16, 2014, from 2 PM until 6 PM and will resume on Monday, November 17, 2014, from 10 AM until funeral service at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Daniel McClure, Preston Smith, Greg Boudreaux, Jared Mayers, David Lyons, and Matthew Smith. Friends and family are invited to services at Greenoaks through this medium.
