

Marguerite "Baby" Labbous Gray passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at The Life Care Center of Aurora, Aurora, Colo. She was born in Alexandria on Feb. 11, 1924, to Kalil and Mariam Labbous. Baby graduated from Bolton High School and was employed as a bookkeeper in Alexandria, Shreveport and Monroe. Before her retirement, she served for 15 years as bookkeeper and corporate secretary of The Cruise Shoppe Ltd., Baton Rouge. She was a member of the Capital City and Brownsfield Lions clubs and most active in state and local Lions Club projects. She was an avid supporter and member of the Advisory Board of the Louisiana Lions Crippled Children's Camp. She was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, one of the highest awards of the Lions Clubs International. She was preceded in death by her parents Kalil and Mariam Labbous; three sisters, Adeline McManus, Lucille Faye and Suzanne "Sue" Glass; and husband, John L "J.L." Gray. Those left to cherish her memory are a sister, Edna Elkins, of Vacaville, Calif.; two daughters, Cathy Harper and Lisa Livengood; four grandchildren, John Gerald Moses, Sterling Wayne Albritton Jr., Amy Lynn Cohara and Andrew Gray Cadle; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A family graveside service will take place in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery.
