"Surrounded by her family, Lavonne "Bonnie" Lindsey, at the age of 82, went home to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Lavonne or Bonnie as her friends called her was a native of Lincoln County, Mississippi, a resident of Baton Rouge and a 1954 graduate of Istrouma High School. She worked as the office manager at the A&P store on Government Street for many years and retired from Hunt's Flowers. Lavonne's life epitomized the virtuous women found in Proverbs 31:10 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies." She faithfully served God at both Istrouma Baptist Church and Cedarcrest Baptist Church by teaching Sunday School classes to the younger children, singing in the choir and serving on various church committees. She enjoyed giving and doing for others. She was always ready to help someone in need. Her home was the meeting place for both family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Vicki Crain of Maurepas; son David Lindsey and wife, Sheri of Baton Rouge; daughter, Kristi Johnson and husband, Brent of French Settlement; sister Patty Shirley"“Verbois and husband, Doug of Baton Rouge; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a nephew and niece.
