Margaret Coerver Jolly, a native of St. Louis, and resident of Baton Rouge, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born Oct. 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Francis Coerver and the late Helen Cahill Coerver. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and LSU. She was a retired St. Aloysius School teacher, where she was the founder of the "Jolly Junk Store." She is survived by her four children, Kay Jolly Hoffpauir and husband Herschel, Jerry Jolly and wife Donna, Ellen Jolly Tanner and husband Tom, and Jay Jolly and wife Liz; nine grandchildren who affectionately called her "Doe Doe," Erik Hoffpauir and wife Allison, Jessica Hoffpauir, Stewart Jolly and wife Amy, Kristin Jolly, Paul Tanner and wife Elizabeth, Megan Tanner, Katherine Tanner, Lee Jolly and Jimmy Jolly; and a great-grandchild, Michael Hoffpauir. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Rosemary Coerver and Ginnie Bolin; two brothers, Thomas Coerver and wife Patty, and James Coerver and wife Flo; and sister-in-law, Robin Coerver. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Jolly Sr.; a sister, Kitty McAfee; and two brothers, John Coerver and Mickey Coerver. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ric Kearny and Michael McAfee. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. until funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald Burns, celebrant. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Aloysius School, the Jolly-Kearny Scholarship at St. Joseph's Academy and the Jolly Family Scholarship at Catholic High School.
