Margaret Rose Losavio JollyMargaret Rose Losavio Jolly found peace and victory in her battle with lung cancer on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Maggie was born in Baton Rouge on March 17, 1952, the third of six children to Dominick and Rose Losavio. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant brother Carl; survived by husband Bill, daughter Elizabeth Rose, and four brothers and their spouses: Sam and Becky Losavio, Dennis and Su Losavio, Steve and Cynthia Losavio, and Tom and Ava Losavio. True to her strong sense of family, she was especially proud to be aunt to 24 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She exuded the values borne of her Italian-Catholic heritage and upbringing in Baton Rouge that shaped her joyful spirit and personality, including schooling through St. Agnes, St. Joseph's Academy, and LSU. Most of her career was in mortgage lending where she excelled at assisting first-time and low-income borrowers achieve their dreams of home ownership. Her in-laws introduced her to one of the great joys of her life "“ New Orleans Mardi Gras parades "“ and for the past 30 years she seldom failed to heed the call of the drums and the lure of the floats. Laughter and smiles were always present when she was in the room, and she particularly loved the playful exchange of jokes and teases with family and friends. Her gentle and loving spirit was also reflected in her adoption and care of numerous pet dogs over the years, and in her work as a trained master gardener and volunteer at the Burden Center. All of this was secondary to the special blessing of the birth of her "Angel Baby," Elizabeth, and her marriage to Bill that was so strong she enthusiastically affirmed her wedding vows on five separate occasions. We wish to thank all family, friends, and professional caregivers who comforted Maggie on her final earthly journey, particularly Renee Montgomery and Eva Wegmann, who lovingly provided selfless support during her home hospice. The celebration of Maggie's life will include a visitation on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown. Visitation will resume on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Wayne Losavio, Mark Losavio, Paul Losavio, Drew Losavio, Brad Losavio, Anna Losavio, Chuck Hustmyre, and Warren Stabiler, Jr. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Academy or to a charity of your choice."We love you bigger"¦"
