MaiTrinh “Lena” Hoang Thi Nguyen passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 30. Describing Lena is to paint a picture of rarity. She embodied loyalty, kindness, humor, compassion, and power, leaving an indelible mark wherever she went. Imperfect yet dedicated, Lena's love knew no bounds, touching the hearts of all who knew her – as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, friend, dog mom, and an exceptional attorney. She was one of the greatest gifts anyone could have asked for. Her impact was profound, bringing love, joy, and solace to those around her. Lena's unwavering devotion to her loved ones spoke volumes of her strength, making her truly extraordinary. Simply put, Lena was and is an extraordinary and one of a kind individual that captured the hearts of so many. On Sunday, May 19th, 2024, we mourned the loss of our angel and bid farewell to a remarkable soul here on earth. Lena was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Louisiana State University in 2016. She later moved to Houston, Texas where she pursued a law degree at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, graduating with honors in 2021. During her time in law school, Lena held notable positions such as Chief of Staff of the Student Bar Association and President of the Student Ambassadors organization. Her leadership and dedication in these roles left a lasting impression, marking her as a prominent rising Texas attorney. As a young aspiring attorney, Lena was known for her exceptional work ethic and dedication, earning the trust of her clients to handle their cases with utmost care. Her hard work did not go unnoticed, as she was recognized as a top-rated practicing attorney and selected to the Texas Rising Star List of 2024. Despite her immense love for others, Lena battled mental health concerns, a silent struggle that often goes unnoticed. Her ability to conceal her pain was a testament to her strength. As we bid farewell to Lena's earthly presence, let us not forget the importance of mental health awareness in honoring her memory. May we continue to support one another, recognizing the silent struggles that many face, and strive to create a world where no one has to suffer in silence. Lena's legacy of love and resilience will forever inspire us. Though Lena is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lena’s legacy of compassion and friendship will continue to inspire us every day. Until we meet again, dear Lena, you will be deeply missed and forever loved. Lena is survived by her mother, Jackie Thu Thuy Nguyen Monte; father, Son Hoang Tran; siblings, Kha “Tommy” Nguyen, and MaiTram “Lyly” Nguyen; nieces, Stella Nguyen, and Helen Truong; nephew, Kaden Nguyen; her “fur son”, Blaze; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm, Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm, and will resume on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10am until the time of funeral/Buddhist services at 2pm.
