"Lucille "Teal" Marie Amedee, a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on February 25, 2020 at the age of 82. Teal was a devout Roman Catholic, and a member of the SSPX Chapel, Our Lady of Sorrows. She had a special devotion to St. Benedict, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and the Infant Jesus of Prague. She was a talented artist and storyteller, and enjoyed reading and watching good English mysteries and murder mysteries. She was a kind, generous and loving soul with a heart of gold. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by four sisters, Hazel Mascarella, Mildred Mumphrey, Patsy Treuil, and Marian Reine, all of Baton Rouge; special godchild, Raphael Reine; a very special and good friend, Joyce Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Antoine Amedee and Elvina Brignac Amedee; and sisters, Lillian Mumphrey and Sylvia Amedee. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2020 at SSPX Chapel, Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3475 N. Sherwood Forest Dr. Baton Rouge, from 9:00 a.m. until a Latin Requiem Mass at 10:00, celebrated by Fr. Luke Demeyer, SSPX. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Special thanks to the homecare hospice nurses, and the nurses and staff of the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge.
