"Surrounded by her family, Louise Margaret Landry Hill passed away at her home Monday, May 28th, 2018. Visitation will be at at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street Thursday from 5:00-8:00 pm, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume the following morning at 10:00 am at St. Aloysius Church, followed by a Mass of the Christian Burial at 1:00 pm. A 1985 graduate of Mount Carmel High School in New Iberia, she earned her undergraduate degree from LSU in 1990 and made Baton Rouge her home. She married James "Jimmy" Pierce Hill, Jr. in 1995, and, while they had five children together, Louise's wit and sensible advice made her a mother to many of their children's friends. She was a loving wife, loyal friend, devoted sister, avid runner, and feisty patient who brought her graceful but tenacious will to all realms of her life, including her two year battle with colon cancer. From an early age, Louise found solace in her faith, explaining once that the reason she went to daily mass was because if she were going to be judged on her life, she would need all the extra points she could get. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jimmy Hill; their children Kristin Hill Adams (Josh), James "Pierce" Hill, III, Anne "Annie" Louise Hill, Julianna Landry Hill, Thomas Joseph Hill, and Mary Elizabeth Hill; her father, Alfred S. "Smitty" Landry, Sr., and nine siblings: Adrianne L. Baumgartner (Robert), Amelie L. Bower (Michael), Alfred "Smitty" Landry, Jr. (Laura), Edward P. Landry (Candi), Dianne L. Kirsch, Carol D. Landry, C. Benjamin Landry (Andrea), Thomas B. Landry, Helen M. Landry-Seward (Ken), and Alice Landry Basden (Tim). She was preceded in death by her mother, Adrianne Irene "Dianne" Mouton Landry, her brother Peter Alexander Landry, and her father-in-law, James Pierce Hill, Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Louise Hill Children's Fund at Investar Bank.
