Loraine Eva Jane Sterling

Loraine D. Sterling passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the age of 96. She was born in West Bend, WI and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was passionate about cooking and made an amazing apple pie. Loraine is survived by her daughters, Laura Lyn Brown and Jennifer Loy James; grandchildren, Martin Brown (Angela), Daniel Brown, Tara Jones (Jason), Theresa James (Michael Fuehrer); great-grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Payton Brown, and Bradley Brown; and a host of other family members. Loraine is preceded in death by her husband, George C. Sterling, Jr.; parents, Walter and Martha Dishneau; siblings, Lucille, Loy and Delmar; and close friend, Carol Hohensee. Visitation will be held at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S. Harrells Ferry Rd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 9:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Garden View Assisted Living.
