Lola Barthel Brown

"Lola Barthel Brown, native and resident of St. Gabriel, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the age of 101. Lola was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. She was also a devout member of the Miraculous Medal Association, who wore her medal since the age of 16. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister, Lola is survived by her son, Richard H. "Buddy" Brown, Jr. and wife Audrey; daughter, Janice Mary Brown Down and daughter-in-law Darlene Brown; sister, Elsie Barthel Kirby; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Cora Lauret Brown; father, Henry J. Barthel; brother, Henry J. Barthel, Jr.; sister, Ethyl Barthel Melancon; son, Robert John Brown; and grandsons, Robert Todd and Scott Brown. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5pm-8pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3625 Hwy 75, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
