Leslie Laurence “Cat” LeSage went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday the 5th day of October 2022 after a lengthy illness. Cat, as he preferred to be called, was born on February 28, 1927 along with his twin sister, Florence LeSage Kelley. He was a retired Welding Supervisor with Exxon Mobil and a retired salesman with Louisiana Welding Supplies/Airgas Baton Rouge. He was an avid accomplished bowler and one terrific dancer. Cat was a man for all seasons, a friend to many and a stranger to none. He loved deep sea fishing with his dear friend Tommy Cureton and dove hunting in Pearsall, Texas. He loved his grandchildren dearly and adored his great granddaughter, Larkin.Cat is survived by his loving wife, Daudrell Ann Guidry LeSage, his sons Laurence L. LeSage, Jr., Michael A. Larkin, Jr., and spouse Ann; and his daughter Ashley L. Soulier and spouse Robert. Grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Larkin, Mallory; Hayley Elise Elizabeth Bennett, and her spouse Dylan; Zachary Cole Larkin, Sydney Nicole Spiers, Molly Maize Fann and Ray Alexander Fann and his beloved great granddaughter, Larkin Amelia Claire Bennett. His brother Claude LeSage (Delores) and his twin sister, Florence LeSage Kelley. Preceded in death by parents, John R. and Ida M. LeSage, Brothers, Cyril LeSage, Harold LeSage, Marvin LeSage, Edmund LeSage and Donald LeSage. Cat loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral arrangements are as follows: St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA) on Monday, October 10, from 9:30 - 11:00 AM with Christian Mass to follow, officiated by Reverend Michael J. Maroney. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park (9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA). Pallbearers will be Robert Soulier, Michael A. Larkin, Jr., Dylan Thomas Larkin, Ray Alexander Fann, Donnie LeSage, Troy LeSage, and Jeffrey LeSage. Honorary pallbearers are Claude LeSage, Frabk Polito, Edward Turcotte, and Val Fontenot.
Special thanks to Dr. Glynn Gomes, Dr. Michael Bernard, Dr. Salvador Valasquez, Dr. Michele Becnel, and Dr. Mary Dobson who oversaw his medical care for the last six years. Also to Bridgeway Hospice who oversaw his care since his latest illness. Special thanks to his caregiver Roxanne Newkirk and his nurses Charlene, Debra, and Elizabeth who were with Laurence every week until his passing. Many thanks to the members of my Bible Class, Gwen, Marcella, Theresa, Diane, and Debbie who were of tremendous support to me during this time. Also to Ed and Diane Turcotte, Val and Angel Fontenot, and Claude LeSage who I could never have made it without them to help me with him.
