Leroy Anthony Dupuy passed away at the age of 85 in Baton Rouge, La. A native of White Castle, Louisiana, Leroy was born on December 25, 1933. He grew up in Baton Rouge and was beloved by his family and many friends. During his younger years growing up in North Baton Rouge, during the 30's and 40's he was known to be quite a rascal who played guitar and rode a motorcycle. Those who knew him heard many great stories over the years about he and his friends, Ray and Sonny Boy. He joined the U.S. Airforce in 1951 where he served as a fireman while deployed in Germany during the Korean War. During that time he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Occupation Medal. Later in life he became a Barber for many years with a Barbershop on Scenic Highway. It was here where he met and became a friend to so many in the Baton Rouge area. He was also an extremely talented carpenter and worked at Louisiana State University in the late 80's and early 90's. He is survived by one daughter Candy Dupuy and a grandson Bobby Joe. He is also survived by brother Charles Dupuy and sister Dorothy Dupuy Cannon and her husband Billy A. Cannon, Sr., sister in law Janice Weems and husband Sam Weems. He was also adored and loved by his many nieces and nephews, Terri Cannon Bird, Gina Cannon McWilliams, Dara Cannon Kelsoe, Billy Cannon Jr., Bunnie Cannon, Brad D. Weems, Samuel Chad Weems, many great nieces and nephews and God Daughter Donna Termini Arsenault. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Bouquet Dupuy, his father Paulin Ray Dupuy, his beloved wife Katherine (Kathy) Millard Dupuy and his best friend of over 80 years John Raymond Termini. Visitation and funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 16 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Green Oaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd.
