Retired head of the Physics and Astronomy Machine Shop at LSU, he died at 6 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 91 and a native of Shingletown, Pa. (State College, Pa.). A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement from April 17-June 30, 1945. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Monday, July 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Religious service at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. There will also be a memorial service at his family reunion in Pennsylvania on Aug. 7. Survived by his daughter-in-law, Barbara; son, David Jordan and wife Gayle; five sisters, Marie Bloom, of State College, Rita Schager, of Aurora, Ohio, Evelyn Bayleson, of State College, Theresa Siwulich, of Centre Hall, Pa., and Frances Knisely, of Spring Mills, Pa.; brothers, Earl Jordan and Edward Jordan, both of State College, George Jordan Jr., of Fleming, Pa., and David Jordan, of Milroy, Pa.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Sadie; wife of more than 50 years, Dorothy Ann; two sons, Leo Jr. and Robert; sister, Elsie; and two brothers, Charles and Fred.
