Laura M. Triche, born March 14, 1927 in Laplace, LA., passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 at the age of 91 at her home in Baton Rouge. She is survived by Harry Triche, her husband of 69 years; sons Eric and wife Jeanne Triche, Owen and wife Sharon Triche, and Michael Triche. Grandchildren: Austin, Jacob, Brock, Gillian, Joseph and Andre Triche. Great grandchildren: Sarah, and Carlie Triche. She was proceeded in death be her parents; Prentiss and Viola Madere; brothers Prentiss Jr. and Guy Madere; and son Kerry Triche. She graduated with a B.S degree in Home Economics from Southwestern Louisiana Institute in 1948, before teaching at Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, LA. After marriage she moved to Baton Rouge where she maintained residency until her death. She also lived in various locations including, Texas, Maine, Canada, and Greece, and visited several other locations throughout Europe and the United States. She was member of Saint Thomas More Catholic church since 1958. Her hobbies included photography and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with others with photo recipe cards that she made. Her family and friends enjoyed making her recipes, especially her Rum Cake. She was a regular attendee of LSU baseball games for 30 years, while also attending several LSU basketball tournament games. Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge on Sunday March 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Saint Thomas More Catholic church on Monday, March 26 at 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. The burial ceremony at Greenoaks cemetery will follow the service.
