Laura Mae Trahan Broussard lived 1/28/1932 - 6/22/2021. She was born in Abbeville LA to Leoto and Leah Trahan. She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life Merlin, her daughter Katherine, her son's Brian and Kerry, her grandsons Nicholas and Heath, her sister Betty Cook and brothers CD, Raymond, Gerald, Roy and Nolan Trahan. She is survived by her son Chris Broussard, daughter-in-law and caretaker Patty Broussard, daughter-in-law Carol Sanford, "partner in crime" Fred the freeloader, special friends Willie Allen, Theda Booth and Jeanette Gatzman, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Laura was a member and president of the Baton Rouge Garden Club for over 20 years and loved traveling with her friends all over Louisiana judging "Cleanest City" and making new friends. Not one to stay still for long, Laura also loved dancing, crafting, gardening and playing Bouree' and poker every chance she had. Laura loved entertaining and never met a holiday she didn't celebrate. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving people you could ever meet, she never met a stranger and would give the shirt off her back if she felt someone else needed it. Laura lived a very full life and her easygoing personality and quick wit will truly be missed by all who knew her and she has a special place in heaven waiting for her. Services will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday June 27th, 2021. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon with Services following at noon. After services, a reception will be held at Green Oaks Reception Center. A private burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
