"LaNelle Adair Sims died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the age of 88 in Baton Rouge. She was born in Haskell, TX on February 16, 1928. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joe Otis Sims; her parents, Anson Adair and Karrie Ma White of TX; and her sisters, Billie (Troy) Frye of NM and Doris (Ted) Harrison of WA. LaNelle Sims was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Rick Sims (wife-Linda Charbonnet Sims) of Hammond, LA and Janna Sims Hall of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Scott Sims of OR, Jonathan Hall of TX, Jason Hall of Baton Rouge, Jennifer (husband-Don) Meyers of Baton Rouge, and Kelly (husband-Chris) Brian of Zachary, LA; and great-grandchildren, Addison and Kellan Brian of Zachary, LA. Her devotion to family will be remembered most by those who loved her. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 6-7 PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home-East located at 11000 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge for friends and family to celebrate the life of LaNelle Adair Sims.
