Dr. Lamar L. Lambert was born in French Settlement on July 26, 1913, to the late Eugene and Althee Lambert. He graduated from Tulane University in 1935 and LSU Medical School in 1939. He was a major in the Army in World War II, and returned in 1945 to Charity Hospital where he specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1948 and began a 35-year career at Stanacola Medical Clinic and was one of the founders of Woman's Hospital. Dr. Lambert is survived by Doris Nolin Lambert, loving wife of 63 years; two sons, Lamar Lambert Jr. and wife Julianne, and Michael Lambert and wife Rhonda; granddaughter, Lauren Lambert; sister, Theresa McCelland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
